City living near a major roadway can be a detriment to sound sleep, but not for me. I take my aid out and I'm in my own quiet world! Living alone, I do spend time every day without the aid - I have grown appreciative of the quiet. E-mail has been a blessing; I don't have to struggle with the phone or ask repeatedly for someone to 'say it again, please.'

Here is a little story (I know you love stories!) - I worked in a Museum reporting directly to the Director along with the Financial Officer who, like me, wore an aid. Many times when the two of us were sitting in the Director's office while he was explaining about new or special jobs to be added to our busy days, we would look at each other, reach our ears and turn off our aids. It always resulted in a rousing good laugh for the three of us.

I hope you get your 'Mickey Mouse Ears' back into working order shortly. I find it quite amusing when getting ready to leave the house: purse, yes; teeth in, yes; eyeglasses on head, yes; aid in, yes! GO!!! Hello to Margreet!
